STEP 5.
Maintenance Planning

Things change, so your son's or daughter's 'Life Plan' should be reviwed and updated on an annual basis.  If your financial picture changes, or if you have health issues that suddenly appear, you should contact our office.

It is best if all parties to your Program can meet once a year.  Keep the 'Letter of Intent' current.

If your child's benfits change, contact our office.  If necessary, meet with your attornet to modify legal documents.

Conclusion

This is an ongoing Program.  It is important that you continue to monitor the changing needs of the person with the disability and make the appriopriate changes in his or her Life Plan in order to ensure that the program will always respond to meet their needs.

One Note of Caution: Insurance and Investment people are beginning to work in this unique field in order to sell commissionable products to fund special needs trusts.  Becareful, these individuals may not fully understand this kind of planning.  We have had clients come to us for help because of problems they encountered working with these people.
